Katie Jacobsen practices in the area of real estate law, representing a wide range of developers in connection with residential, commercial and mixed-use projects, including California Bureau of Real Estate matters.  She regularly advises clients of all sizes in connection with projects ranging from large scale master planned communities to urban infill projects and high-rise condominiums.

Ms. Jacobsen has practiced extensively in the area of common interest development law and has represented clients in establishing governance structures, preparing form sales documents obtaining public reports (permits to sell) from the California Bureau of Real Estate, and obtaining project approvals from Fannie Mae, the Federal Housing Administration and the Department of Veterans Affairs for developments throughout California.  Her experience in this area involves work with the Bureau of Real Estate, local governments and federal agencies in obtaining approvals of common interest development project documents.

Her practice has also included representation of home builders and non-home builders in connection with the intricacies of complying with the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act.

Ms. Jacobsen’s practice is statewide and she has represented proponents of both large and small common interest developments in the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Placer, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, Santa Clara, San Diego, Solano and Ventura.

Ms. Jacobsen is a 2001 magna cum laude graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law, where she was executive editor of the San Diego Law Review and elected to the Order of the Coif, and a cum laude graduate of St. Olaf College.

  • Represented property owner in preparing CC&Rs for Costa Mesa mixed-use commercial development.

  • Represented affordable housing developer in preparing governing documents for a high-rise mixed-use development in downtown San Diego.

  • Represented developer in connection with the preparation of documentation for master and condominium associations for luxury high-rise development in downtown Los Angeles, as well as various sales-related documentation.

  • Represented national home builder in connection with preparation of project documentation and obtaining Bureau of Real Estate approvals for neighborhoods in major master planned community in the City of Lake Forest.

  • Represented multiple private home builders in connection with preparing project documentation and obtaining Bureau of Real Estate approvals for various neighborhoods in 3,500+ unit master planned development in the City of Chula Vista.

  • Represented national home builder in connection with the preparation of master and sub-association governing documents for residential development in the City of Santa Clara.
