Robert E. Montejo II practices in the area of real estate law, representing clients in real estate transactions and development for data centers, renewable energy, office, industrial, retail, hotel and multifamily properties located throughout the United States. Mr. Montejo’s broad transactional practice includes counseling clients with respect to acquisitions and dispositions, development, financings, workouts, leasing and joint ventures.

Mr. Montejo also represents borrowers, lenders and servicers in a variety of financing transactions, including acquisition and construction financing, mezzanine financing, credit line financing, loan workouts and loan restructurings.

Mr. Montejo’s clients include data center developers, energy companies, private equity firms, REITs, pension funds, hotel operators, insurance companies, asset managers, special servicers and banks. Mr. Montejo has also represented investors on bids for loan portfolios from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) through its structured transactions program.

Mr. Montejo is a 2013 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, where he was editor of the Georgetown Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a graduate, with high honors, of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

  • Represented a private equity fund in the $26.5 million sale of a data center in Colorado.

  • Represented a private equity fund in the $87.5 million sale of a data center in Northern Virginia.

  • Represented a real estate investment firm, as borrower, in connection with a $84.8 million CMBS loan.

  • Represented a real estate investment company in its $389 million refinancing of a critical data center project in downtown Los Angeles California.

  • Represented a joint venture of two real estate investment firms, as borrower, in connection with a $450 million CMBS loan to be used toward acquiring interests in a data center campus in Illinois.

  • Represented a Mexico-based provider of motor transportation equipment and parts in North America in its acquisition of an aluminum trailer maker and associated real estate assets.
  • Represented a manufacturer in the sale of a large industrial facility and adjacent land in Florida.

  • Represented a national energy company in the acquisition of a portfolio of solar properties located in New York.

  • Represented an energy company on a long term solar lease in Arizona.

  • Represented EagleBank on $67 million loan secured by a data center in Northern Virginia.

  • Represented a private bridge lender, in its upsizing of an existing junior mezzanine loan, as part of a larger construction facility with a leading mortgage and senior mezzanine lender, to develop a 60,000 square foot ,19-story luxury residential condominium in New York City.
  • Represented Wells Fargo on $700 million syndicated loan secured by property in Miami, Florida.
