NEW YORK, May 21, 2024―Pierre Georges Bonnefil, Michael Grohman and the New York office of Duane Morris hosted an engaging Career Day for over 100 multilingual students and chaperones from three local high schools. The event aimed to inspire the students and educate them about career opportunities within the legal field.
Throughout the day, students from Flushing High School, Newtown High School and James Madison High School participated in breakout sessions that featured revolving panels who shared their unique pathways to success and provided valuable insights into various legal careers and practice areas. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions, gaining firsthand knowledge about the responsibilities of legal professionals, the educational and career trajectories required and the challenges and rewards of working in law. The event underscored the importance of multilingual skills, emphasizing how these abilities can enhance communication and client relations in an increasingly globalized world. The Career Day not only broadened the students’ understanding of the legal industry but also inspired many to consider law as a viable and exciting career path. The firm’s commitment to fostering future talent and promoting diversity within the legal profession was evident, making the event a resounding success.
In addition to Bonnefil and Grohman, the students heard from a diverse group of speakers including attorneys Maria Cáceres-Boneau, Roger Chari, Jessica Singh, Mauro Wolfe, Jose Aquino, Lily Gao, Brandon Chan and Liran Messinger; managing clerk/paralegal supervisor Onika McLean, paralegal Sophia Khalek, legal assistants Ana Venissa Fernandez and Taneka Smith; and client development director Justin Edmondson, client development manager Lotan Korenblit, marketing and business development specialist Taja West, marketing and business development coordinator Vaughn Richardson and video specialist Sean Graney. The event also could not been a success without the efforts of office coordinator Lakeisha Hemingway and receptionist Sean Muhsen.
