Nina A. Kalandadze is a senior associate in the firm’s Trial Practice Group whose practice focuses on antitrust litigation and other complex commercial disputes. She has experience representing clients across a variety of industries in litigation involving antitrust, intellectual property, unfair competition, and other business disputes.

Nina has represented clients in a broad range of antitrust matters, including cases involving alleged conspiracies to restrain trade, wage-fixing and no-poach agreements, information sharing, and monopolization claims. She has also defended clients against claims involving unfair competition and violations of the Lanham Act. In addition to her litigation practice, Nina advises clients on antitrust aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including compliance with the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act and related regulatory considerations. Beyond her antitrust practice, Nina has advised institutional clients, including museums and universities, on legal issues involving the treatment and repatriation of human remains.

Before entering private practice, Nina served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joshua D. Wolson of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Nina is fluent in Russian and Georgian and co-teaches an antitrust course for professionals and non-law students on the fundamentals of business law.

Representative Matters

  • Represented a Temple University football player in obtaining a preliminary injunction against the NCAA and securing a fifth year of eligibility, asserting state antitrust and breach of contract claims challenging the NCAA’s exclusion of 2022 high school graduates from its recently adopted eligibility rule.

  • Represented the largest medical certifying board in federal antitrust litigation alleging monopolization, as well as First Amendment claims, in relation to its standards for physician certification. Obtained dismissal of all state and federal claims in Texas federal court.

  • Represented a publicly funded online charter school in breach-of-contract litigation against its education-services provider in the Western District of Michigan, securing summary judgment on all substantive claims, including that the provider breached the parties' services agreement by failing to issue a contractual enrollment-shortfall credit and by wrongfully terminating the agreement mid-year.

  • Assisted in an investigation on behalf of one of the largest school districts in the country regarding the alleged racial-discrimination impacts of charter-school authorizing practices over a 10-year period, including conducting interviews and drafting portions of the investigative report.

  • Advised clients on compliance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA).
